Chris Gray was born in Seattle, WA in 1953 and has lived much of his life between Seattle and the Bay Area in California.  He worked in an IBM research lab for 8 years, for Oracle Corporation and finally for Symantec Corporation, makers of Norton Antivirus.  Between 2007-2012, he worked privately on medical devices that talked, sometimes with grant support from the National Science Foundation.  Most notably, he created the first talking oximeter and asthma monitor ever developed, and created a fully functional talking blood glucose meter for Abbott Diabetes Care.  Since 1971, he has been active in the American Council of the Blind in many capacities including its elected President from
2001-2007.  Now, he works as Executive Directgor of the Missouri Council of the Blind and lives in St. Louis, MO.

Chris became interested in jazz at about age 15 and has been a casual listener ever since.  He teamed up with Don Thomson to do Journey into Jazz in 2013.  “We’re a great team,” he says” “Don provides the in-depth knowledge about jazz and I produce the shows.  “We have a lot of fun doing them.”
